About Cypress Village

The largest of the three communities, Cypress Village began in 1975, when Sugarmill Woods first opened. Residents in all communities must obtain a membership. All changes in the community must pass through the board of directors of the Cypress Village Property Owners’ Association.

Cypress Village Property Owners Association

Members who own a parcel of land within the village can participate in the Cypress Village Property Owners Association. It is a mandatory membership for all of its property owners. Each Association elects a Board of Directors to govern their village. Associations have the ability to amend, add or rescind governing documents. To do so, they must vote within the legal guidelines in the Florida Statutes for Homeowners Associations. The Board of Directors are responsible to enforce deed restrictions. Additionally, they must preserve, maintain and protect the Greenbelt areas. Also, the Board of Directors must supervise nighttime security. Furthermore, they must maintain open communications with Citrus County agencies that affect their Village.
